American Electric Power (AEP) is one of the largest electric utility companies in the United States, providing electricity to more than 5 million customers across 11 states. AEP was founded in 1906 and is headquartered in Columbus, Ohio. The company generates and distributes electricity to residential, commercial, and industrial customers through its subsidiaries, including AEP Ohio, AEP Texas, Appalachian Power, Indiana Michigan Power, Kentucky Power, Public Service Company of Oklahoma, Southwestern Electric Power Company, and Wheeling Power Company.
